Refuge

We could see the fires in the distance raging over the hills towards us. We knew we had little time left. In a state of urgency, we left our homes and headed to the Refuge. A hotel of protection created in response to the increase of climatic disasters. This concrete tower was designed to withstand extreme heat and hold the people of the neighbouring towns high above and separated from danger. We look to each other in relief as we approach safety.
